Openmouth at the Velvet - MAY 25 2006

Openmouth at the Velvet - MAY 25 2006

Yeah folks, its comin atya...

Openmouth Poetry Sessions: Thursday 25th May 2006 - From 8pm at the Velvet Lounge: Corner of Beaufort and Walcott Sreet, Mt Lawley.

Poems. Yeah Poems. Poems read. Poems performed. Poems desecrated. Poems recited and spat. Poems burnt and shed nervously. Real poems in your smiley face. Poems with sweet guts and legs and blood and gravy. Poems with sex and drugs and nudity. Poems with music and soundscape. Poems with lilting beats n bones. Vegan poems. Extreme poems. Poems whispered, poems sang. Normal poems. Radical poems. Rhyming poems.

All these things. In your ears, your eyes and in your heart. Get some. Do some!

Be ready. Be very very ready.

Because despite the venue 'hiccup' in April, the monthly Openmouth Poetry sessions are alive and bangin this month. Perth is bulging at the hips with big poetry talent. You know it!

And on the last Thursday of every month, we get to prove it. Bring a bag of words on the 25th May. Come along and consume the werd. Be the word.

Get in the Velvet Lounge - on the corner of Beaufort and Walcott Streets, Mt Lawley - and make your mark. Sprout your words at other poets. Amaze your friends and family! Laugh, cry and be loved.

Open Readers are extremely welcome. We want YOU to spin some poems at the masses in the rapid-fire open mic sections.

You can enter the monthly SLAM - be judged by the audience! If you win, you get to be the featured guest the following month.

May's Featured poet and winner of the March Openmouth Poetry Slam is GABRIEL EVERALL...

Featured band this month: the seductive, mesmerising voice and lyrics of Gosia Basinska performing with her band - "The Penny Dropped"

SEE HEAR TOUCH TASTE AND SMELL PERTH'S FRESHEST WORDMONGERS IN THE FLESH: BE ONE! FROM 8PM SHARP THURSDAY 25TH MAY $5/3 or donation at the door. Get in early.
